Franchising
Franchising deals with the area of law revolving around the right or license that
is granted to an individual or group to market a company's goods or services in
a particular territory under the company's trademark, trade name, or service mark.
Contract Negotiations: Any individual who signs a franchise agreement is
executing a legal contract, that requires certain obligations be fulfilled and particular
responsibilities met. Although most individuals execute the franchise agreement
in the name of a corporation, franchisors typically require a personal guaranty
by the shareholders of that corporation. Before you sign the franchise agreement
Bartlett & Weigle can help you negotiate the terms of the contract and make sure
you are comfortable with all of its provisions.
Preparation and Review of Franchise Documents: Whether you are considering
the purchase of a franchise, terminating an existing franchise relationship or establishing
a franchise system, preparing and reviewing your documents will serve as the primary
asset underlying the future of your business.
